Native to high elevations in Mexico, chocolate cosmos has captivated gardeners with an affinity for the aroma of dark chocolate and a wish to grow something unusual. Less floriferous than other garden cosmos, but intriguing nonetheless, Chocamocha is a modern variety bred for fragrance and compact growth. It is best in large containers in sheltered northern gardens, blooming in summer and fall then wintered indoors. Maximum flowers in areas with warm days and cool nights, and when days shorten in fall.
